September: the month of destruction

They say September is the perfect month to start over, and yet things are going from bad to worse: the Israeli government has bombed several countries, including Lebanon, Qatar, Yemen, Syria, which in 2025 has been subjected to about a hundred Israeli raids and is now partially occupied by Israel, and Gaza, by now almost completely razed to the ground.

If on one hand the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is gaining visibility, on the other, what happened in the other countries already seems forgotten. Faced with international crimes, the West falls silent and lets it go. That same world which reacted against Russia by applying sanctions and excluding it from the most important events, today opens its doors wide to Israel. For governments, it is not a matter of war, genocide or crimes, what matters is only who commits them. On one side, there was the chance to weaken a hostile State, on the other there is a strategic ally they do not want to upset. Under the lens of double standards, everything is shown to us in a distorted way, in the hope that the masses will swallow the most “convenient” version.

But it is precisely in the people that the last drop of humanity resides, in those who are exposing themselves more than institutions, in those who in these days have gone on strike or will do so, in Italy and around the world, for Palestine, against injustice and oppression, but above all against the silence of those who hold power.
